If i’m honest i’m struggling with a few things. but for starters, i can’t get the images on my homepage to change when i change the feature image in each portfolio post.

Welcome to SeaTheme forum.

1. Do you talk about the homepage? The thumbs on the homepage are not the featured images from single portfolio.
You can edit the homepage, change the image on BM content builder directly.

2. Please note 2 things:
2.1 Upload woff2 or woff instead of otf format font file.

You can define the font on BM Font management. And assign the font for global element(like menu, footer, etc) on BM Font management>Fonts Assignment. You can also assign font on BM content builder, like a Text module. If you still do not understand, let me know what is the element need to change font on homepage(is menu items?). I will give you a guide.
