How to update a WordPress theme

Important Notice: Please read update LOG(SEA, ART, Arnold, Air) before Update. Because the big update(like 1.x to 2.x, 2.x to 3.x) may be break the web pages.

There are 2 ways to update the theme:

1. Using WordPress admin (If you use Aside theme):

• Go to and login themeforest.net, move the mouse cursor to username on top-right of page, there is the sub-menu slide down, click “download” to download the latest version.
• Login to your WordPress admin.
• In the “Appearance > Themes” menu, please activate a default theme(like Twenty Nineteen theme). Because you cannot delete a currently activated theme. delete the Aside theme(click “Theme Details” on Aside thumbnail, there is the popup panel, click “delete” on bottom-right corner)
• At the top of the page click “Add New”, click “Upload Theme”, then click the file input to select a file.
• Select the latest zipped theme file, “aside.zip”, and click “Install Now”.
• After installation you will receive a success message confirming your new install.
• Click the link “Activate”.

2. Using FTP (If you use Aside theme):

• Go to and login themeforest.net, move the mouse cursor to username on top-right of page, there is the sub-menu slide down, click “download” to download the latest version.
• Extract folder “aside” from the zipped theme.
• Login to your FTP server and navigate to your WordPress themes directory.
• Normally this would be “wp-content/themes”.
• Upload and replace the folder “aside” to your themes directory by FTP.

can’t update theme to the latest version. From Envato account I’m downloading version 1.3.3 Automatic update doesn’t work either with Envato WordPress Toolkit. Where I could download the latest version? Thank you.

To find your purchase code you need to log into your ThemeForest account and go to your “Downloads” page.

Locate some of the Bwsm themes you purchased in your “Downloads” list and click on the Download and next on the “Installable Wordress file only” link in drop-down menu.

Thx, but despite your help, when I’m downloading theme the way you described (same way done it by myself before), the installed theme shows version 1.3.3 only. Don’t know how to get latest update.

How to update BM Pagebuilder plugin:

1. Update your theme(Air/Arnold/Art), how to update theme
2. Go to Plugins > All Plugins, remove the BM Pagebuilder/BM Content Builder
3. Go to Appearance > Install Plugins: install/activate BM Pagebuilder/BM Content Builder
