Portfolio links to posts, not pages – can this be changed?

Hi! I’m wondering if the portfolio feature can be tweaked to allow it to link to site pages, rather than blog posts. I’m using this theme to create a site for a client who would strongly prefer this.

Please edit the single posts, set post format as “Link”, enter the target URL in the 1st “Link Item”:

brilliant, worked like a charm! Thank you! One more question –

I am using the filled mask hover effect on the portfolio items, and I really like it. However I would love to have the overlaid item title visible permanently, with the filled mask effect applied on hover. I’ve had a look through the options and it seems that the thumbnail & title portfolio layout doesn’t allow you to position the text over the image, only beneath it, and doesn’t allow hover animations.

Will this need to be a custom CSS job?

To make the overlaid item title visible permanently, please add custom CSS into “Appearance > Customize: Additional CSS”:

.grid-item-con-text {
    opacity: 1;
}
