I’m using Polylang and I have translated my Swedish pages to English, and created an English menu and saved it as Primary English menu, but on the English starter page I still get the Swedish header menu. Can you help me how to fix this?
Where do I link the English menu to the English starter page?January 29, 2026 at 11:29 pm #31963Hi,
Please select a new menu for the 2nd lang. There is no menu for the lang by default, so all pages would show on the menu bar.
DOC: https://polylang.pro/documentation/support/getting-started/create-menus/If it does not work, may I check your WP? If is ok, please leave your WP-admin info via picking up private reply
Regards!

I checked your website, but I didn’t find any settings issues. Switching to English should display the English menu correctly; it’s very strange. I also did the same test on my local server, and the different menus worked without reproducing the problem.

SeaTheme – FAQs – WordPress Customization – FacebookJanuary 30, 2026 at 11:56 am #31971Ok thank you any suggestions what I should do? Should I try and reinstall Polylang? Any ideas how I can fix it?
Grateful for any help to solve the mystery..
January 31, 2026 at 2:10 am #31977You can try this first. The website’s first language is set to Swedish, right? You can delete the second language (English) and recreate it. If it still doesn’t work, try reinstalling Polylang.

SeaTheme – FAQs – WordPress Customization – FacebookFebruary 2, 2026 at 1:01 pm #31982Hi, So I tried reinstalling Polylang several times and still there is just the header menu in Swedish. Since the theme doesn’t seem to work with Polylang – do you recommend another translation plugin? Or is there some other way you can help me make it work? I only have three pages to translate so its very small, but I just cant get the menu to show up in English, this is quite frustrating…
Thank you, Mia
February 3, 2026 at 5:07 am #31986Hi
It supports WPML also, which is a paid plugin. If the issue is solely with the menu in Polylang, I recommend trying the Conditional Menus plugin (before switching to WPML). It allows you to specify menus for different pages. For example, if your main menu is in Swedish, use this plugin to specify English menus for the 3 English pages.
Conditional Menus: https://wordpress.org/plugins/conditional-menus/
If you allow me, I can log into your WP and help you set up this menu plugin.

I fixed the menu, to edit the EN version menu, click +Conditions then click pages to pickup the EN pages (marked 2 in the screenshot:
ps:
I had to add a new ‘HEM new’ page to the frontpage. Without it, the website homepage always retrieves the “home english” page instead of the ‘HEM’ page. It seems to be a bug in Polylang.
