Can’t rid of index.php in permalinks

Hi, I’m using Air WordPress theme, I want to change the permalink to “post name”, however when I apply this change, the other pages (except homepage) can not be resolved and show 404.

Looks like it requires /index.php/%postname%/ in order to resolve.
An example is http://wp.estudioautomata.mx/index.php/contact/

If I change to “post name” it will be http://wp.estudioautomata.mx/contact/ however it is not resolved.

Besides that, if I leave “post name” applied and try to create or update any page I get the following error in the edition page view.
“Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

Hope you can guide me where this issue could be and how it can be fixed, thanks.

Did you set SSL for website? If you use of SSL certificate, please check if your ssl certificate has expired, I tried to access https, but it says there is a risk. It may cause the issue. I suggest you stop SSL for now, you can find the option on your website space host cPanel.

And it may be caused by wrong setting of htaccess file. Please read about how to fix it.

The issue could be caused by other reasons also, it is hard to say. The below link should be helpful.

If you cannot fix it still, please send your website FTP account and WordPress website wp-admin access (URL / username/password) by picking up “Set as private reply”
