Unfortunately I did not found with Polylang the possibility to translate the strings of the 404 page for art-theme.
Would it be possible to add it to functions.php or to have it in one of the future updates?

The strings in the 404 page hardcoded in PHP files are not handled by the Strings translations list table. These strings are stored in .po/.mo files.
The FR, ES, JA, DE, NL(front-end)po/mo files are ready in the art-theme/languages folder.
If you want to edit or add po/mo file, please use the Loco translate plugin. refer the doc: https://doc.seatheme.net/theme/art/translate-for-art/translate-by-loco-translate/
