Menu items mix-blend-mode

I’m working with some menu items that are always on screen, and images are scrolling behind them. I want to use mix-blend-mode in custom CSS so the color of the menu items change depending on the image behind them. When I try it in css mix-blend-mode turns red and my menu items disappear. I’m using this code:

.head-meta
{
mix-blend-mode: difference;
}

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi
