Is there anyone that can help with this? I’m trying to determine the maximum size that images would show at desktop, and whether they would scale infinitely.

Right now the images scale up based on the width of the browser. I don’t see a point where they stop scaling. Is there a maximum width for the site content or does it always fit the width of the browser?

There is not maximum width limitation for images.
The images will be scaled to the width of the outer container (or the viewport width in the case of full width) if the outer container is wider than the image itself. If you determine the maximum size, they would NOT scale infinitely.
