Hi
when I got your theme a few days ago, I started with the child theme as I’d usually do, but then when I wanted to import the demo sites, it says I should not be using the child theme, so I switched back to the original one.
In the meantime I designed my website, changed options of the Theme etc.
Now I’m in the situation where I’d like to possibly do some changes in code (css and php), but I want them to remain if possible when updating the theme.
What can I do? Can I use one of the many plugins to create a child theme out of my main one? How would that work then for next update of the ART theme?
Thanks!

ok thanks, but my question was what to do now that in the last few days I’ve worked with main theme, not the ‘child’ one. I didn’t modify any file, but I did design quite a few pages and changed/configured quite a few settings in the Theme Settings.
What happens if I switch now to he child theme?
Can I do so leaving website and my theme settings unchanged?
If not can I do a child them myself with one of the many extensions available to do so?Thanks!

The pages and theme options what you built will not be gone if you switch to child theme. If you added custom CSS into “Appearance > Customize: Additional CSS”, please backup them. You need paste them to child theme again.
If not can I do a child them myself with one of the many extensions available to do so?
I don’t know what’s extensions you will add. Please read the guide https://doc.seatheme.net/general-topics/how-to-custom-a-wordpress-theme/#php-codes
I suggest you add codes based on our child theme. You would find the art-child.zip in the main downloaded file from ThemeForest.
