I would like to use the “standard gallery” with gallery width “wide”.
Some of my portfolio galleries have images in landscape and portrait orientation. To prevent getting images bigger than most of the screens I uploaded images with a max high of 1000px. Surprisingly the images in portrait orientation appear much higher than the actual image size of 1000px in high.
Please try to set Gallery Width as Narrow. It will be better. The image height can not be set directly.
